 Novel
Day for Students is a unique educational outreach program in
which authors visit local high schools throughout Broward County
to discuss their life and work. A writing contest to encourage
young writers is held and over 1,500 student works are judged.
Students from grades 9 to12 are invited to participate with
cash prizes awarded at every school. If you or your child would
like to participate, ask your English teacher or call the Broward
Public Library Foundation for more information.
Night of Literary Feasts
is the premier literary event beginning with a two hour cocktail reception
and book signing at the Main Library in downtown Fort Lauderdale, followed by
a series of dinner parties hosted in private homes and restaurants. Books are
sold throughout the cocktail reception. Guests have a choice of dinner locations
and authors rotate around at each dinner to visit with every guest. Tickets are
available by calling the Broward Public Library Foundation. Funds raised this
evening support literacy programming in Broward County year round.
Lit LIVE! is free and open to the public.
Authors meet with the public in a scheduled series of talks
to inspire and fascinate book lovers of all ages. Feast authors
greet the public throughout the day on the Davie campus of
Nova Southeastern University. No tickets are required to attend
or to meet the individual authors. All are welcome. Books are
sold throughout the day. There are great opportunities for
bookclubs and private group discussions with authors available
at Lit LIVE! For directions, more information about book club
